The algorithms used by Google to rank sites in search results can have dramatic effects on the traffic to your websites.
No matter if they are wordpress websites of all kind of other platform – they all need good traffic.
Knowing the most weighty parameters and optimizing the site accordingly can make the critical difference between success and failure.
Here are the seven principles that, in our experience, produce the best value for your SEO investments.
1. Mobile first
The opening shot for the mobile aspect was already given in April 2015 with the Google Mobilegeddon update. Although not everyone started running after the shot, everyone heard it and realized that the mobile world was not only the future but was already with us here. Those who did not do anything with it, and did not plan enough for a mobile phone, are expected to pay for it this year.
On Jan. 10, 2017, Google announced that “pages that will not be easily accessible to users coming from search results on Mobile will be compromised.”
In other words, if your site is not well optimized for mobile devices, you will have to suffer damage to the site’s SERP.
In simple: your website’s traffic will be damaged if the the website will not work well on mobiles.
If you are not sure whether your site meets Google’s mobile requirements, log in to your Search Console account. If you have not yet registered your site in your account, add it and Google will generate a usability report for your mobile.
2. If You are a local – You can get traffic from google’s Power Tools!
A research that has been made on the frequency of online shopping in 2016, showed that in 2 weeks the average frequency of shopping online is 39%, and it will just keep growing.
According to the data presented in Google’s Handbook for the Mobile World, there is a significant link between searches conducted on mobile devices and local searches of the immediate environment. According to these data, 20% of the searches are oriented around local topics. From smartphone users:
94% looking for local information
51% visited the store
48% called the store
29% made a purchase

Your ranking on the Google business list is majorly affected by three factors:
- Relevance : How relevant your product and service is with the searched term.

- Reputation : How customers are reviewing and rating your business. Google gives lot of weight age to this parameter.
3. Research key phrases
Keyword research is perhaps the oldest promotion tool, but it is still very relevant, even in 2018. Although Google is reducing the amount of information it provides about key phrases, the two major SEO, Moz and Ahrefs tools build and enhance their key phrase tools to fill the vacuum google’s leaving behind. However, in 2018 the application of key phrases in promotion processes will be different than in the past, thanks to RankBrain.
RankBrain is a learning tool that allows Google to examine expressions within context, rather than treating them as naked strings that stand on their own. With the innovative tool, Google now knows to recognize synonyms, word roots, and more. The new key phrase tools take this into account and build phrase groups and meta phrases, where publishers can build content with a set of relevant contexts. However, as in the past today, one must beware of constructing artificial texts that want to eat the whole cake and include all expressions in all contexts.
4. Creating an SEO strategy from scratch
Google’s slogan for years has been “content is king” and for years site promoters have mocked Google and continued to use controversial tactics to promote dubious sites to the top of the search results and to get some big traffic.
Even though these tactics are still very common and webmasters in black hat methods are always a few steps ahead of the algorithm, more and more website owners understand that in the long run and for building an online brand, writing quality content and distributing it to as large audiences as possible is the surest way to win not only handsome ratings Google but the confidence of surfers and potential customers.
The creation of quality content has advantages beyond those mentioned, such as obtaining natural links, building trust with site visitors and customers, gaining the status of an opinion leader in the field, and obtaining natural traffic from searches for brand names and content.
There are several stages to remember when we create SEO Strategy:
- Build a planning and tracking file for content management
- Feasibility Study and Goal Setting
- Competitive Competitive Research
- Identify our target audience
- Content Distribution Planning
- Creating and distributing content
- Indicators of success and ongoing monitoring
5. Effective backlinks
When a webpage links to any other page, it’s called a backlink. In the past, backlinks were the major metric for the ranking of a webpage. A page with a lot of backlinks tended to rank higher on all major search engines, including Google. This is still true to a large extent.
Backlinks should be natural, this means that a website must not use artificial ways to create backlinks for their own websites. The quality of links is far more important than the quantity.
